Traffic management trusted by national retailers and major event producers
Specialized Traffic Control for Every Event Type
Every event format carries its own traffic profile. A parade route, a festival footprint, a race course, and a stadium load-out each demand a different closure strategy, crew deployment, and permit pathway. LADMA builds the plan around the event you are running, not a generic template.
-
Civic & Community
Parades & Processions
Moving and rolling route closures, intersection control along the full corridor, and clear separation between spectators and the active route. We sequence reopenings behind the procession so traffic restores predictably as each block clears.
-
Civic & Community
Festivals & Street Fairs
Hard perimeter closures, controlled pedestrian flow, and managed vendor load-in and emergency access for single or multi-day footprints. Closure layouts are designed around your site plan and submitted for permit through our traffic control plans team.
-
Civic & Community
Road Races & Marathons
Course closures and rolling closures that advance with the field, intersection marshaling, and staggered reopening behind the last participant. Our certified flaggers keep runners and vehicles separated at every crossing and turn.
-
Sports & Entertainment
Concerts & Live Entertainment
Ingress and egress surge management, rideshare and drop-off zones, parking direction, and coordinated mass egress after the show. We stage message boards and barricades to guide arriving and departing traffic without bottlenecking the venue.
-
Sports & Entertainment
Sporting & Championship Events
High-volume arrival and departure flow, credentialed and VIP access lanes, and staging for broadcast and production vehicles. We coordinate directly with venue operations and law enforcement so perimeter and access control hold under peak load.
-
Corporate & Retail
Corporate & Retail Activations
Grand openings, distribution-center surges, and peak-season parking and queue management for national retailers. See related work on our projects page, from store launches to high-volume logistics sites.
We Handle the Permits and Agency Coordination Behind the Closure
A public event rarely sits inside a single jurisdiction. A parade route can cross city streets, county roads, and a state highway in the same mile, each with its own closure authority and approval process. The plan only works if every agency signs off and every stakeholder is coordinated before the first cone goes down.
LADMA manages that coordination end to end. We design the closure to MUTCD Part 6 standards, prepare and submit the permit packages to the controlling agencies, and work directly with law enforcement on the road-closure and intersection control points they require. Timelines are driven by each jurisdiction's review process, so we engage early and build the submission schedule around the agencies involved.
Across Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Delaware, and Pennsylvania, that means working with the relevant state DOT alongside the municipal special-event and public-space offices that actually issue the closure. In the District, it can also mean coordinating with federal authorities where an event touches National Park Service grounds.

Special Event Traffic Control: Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should we book special event traffic control?
Engage as soon as you have a confirmed date and a general route or footprint. Permit review timelines are set by each jurisdiction, and events that cross multiple municipalities or involve a state highway require longer lead time for agency and law-enforcement coordination. Booking early lets us design the closure, prepare the permit package, and secure the resources your event needs without compressing the review window.
Does LADMA handle the event permits and road-closure applications?
Yes. We manage the permit process end to end, preparing and submitting the road-closure and special-event applications to the controlling agencies for your event. That includes municipal special-event and public-space offices, the relevant state DOT where a route requires it, and coordination with local law enforcement on the closure and intersection-control points they require. For events spanning multiple jurisdictions, we serve as the single point of coordination across every overlapping authority.
What types of events do you provide traffic control for?
We support parades and processions, festivals and street fairs, road races and marathons, concerts and live entertainment, sporting and championship events, and corporate and retail activations. Plans are built around the specific traffic profile of your event, whether that means rolling route closures advancing with a race field, hard perimeter closures for a festival footprint, or high-volume ingress and egress management for a major venue.
Which states and jurisdictions does LADMA cover?
We provide special event traffic control across Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Delaware, and Pennsylvania, coordinating with MDOT SHA, VDOT, DDOT, DelDOT, and PennDOT alongside the municipal offices that issue local closures. In the District, that can also include coordination with federal authorities where an event touches National Park Service grounds. Each state carries its own permit pathway, and our teams are familiar with the requirements in each.
Are your flaggers and traffic control plans certified and compliant?
Yes. Our field personnel are ATSSA-certified, and every closure is designed to MUTCD Part 6 standards for temporary traffic control. Whether your event calls for certified flaggers at pedestrian crossings, a compliant temporary traffic control plan for permit review, or both, the work is built to meet the standards that agencies and law enforcement require before they approve a public-event closure.
Let's Build the Traffic Plan Behind Your Next Event
From permit coordination to certified flaggers and full road closures, LADMA handles the traffic so you can run the event. Serving Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Delaware, and Pennsylvania.
