Field Supervisor Job Summary
The Field Supervisor leads daily operations in the field (about 80%) and supports office functions (about 20%). You will plan and dispatch crews, verify setups, conduct inspections, and communicate with clients and the Area Manager/General Manager. Success in this role means zero-incident shifts, crews that feel supported, and clients who trust our professionalism. You will model safety, coach best practices, and solve problems quickly and calmly.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise traffic control crews and manage daily field operations.
- Ensure strict compliance with MUTCD, ATSSA, and state safety protocols.
- Conduct field and vehicle inspections; document findings and actions.
- Coordinate lane closures, detours, and flagging operations to plan.
- Lead pre-bid/job walks; represent LADMA with professionalism.
- Coach and develop crew members; foster teamwork and accountability.
- Support scheduling, payroll, timekeeping, and time-off requests.
- Communicate early with clients to prevent issues and resolve concerns quickly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; 4-year business-related degree a plus.
- 1–2 years of supervisory experience leading 20+ team members.
- Clear verbal and written communication; calm under pressure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CRM/dispatch tools preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Able to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and near active traffic.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physical tasks as needed.
- ATSSA/state certifications or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Schedule & Work Environment
This role is full-time and primarily field-based. Shifts may start early, include occasional nights or weekends, and vary based on project needs and weather. You’ll coordinate closely with operations and client teams to keep work zones safe and jobs on schedule.
Compensation & Benefits
This Field Supervisor Job LADMA Traffic Control offers a salary of $55,000–$65,000 annually based on experience.
